We repair tile, shingle, metal and flat roofs across Port St. Lucie and the Treasure Coast, and Devon's line is open 24/7 for emergency roof repair.

04 Repair or replace?

Repair it, or replace it?

A good roofer won't sell you a roof you don't need. Here's how we think about it — and we'll walk you through it on your own roof.

Repair usually makes sense when

  • The damage is in one area: a few tiles, a flashing leak, one storm-hit section.
  • The rest of the roof is in good shape for its age.
  • The deck underneath is solid.
  • It's the first leak, not the third.

Replacement is worth a look when

  • Leaks keep coming back in different places.
  • Damage is spread across much of the roof.
  • The deck is soft or rotting in more than one spot.
  • The roof is near the end of its life, or your insurer is asking about its age or condition.

On older roofs, large repairs can also bring Florida Building Code requirements into play. If that applies to your roof, we'll tell you before any work starts. Get a free estimate

Do you do emergency roof repair?

Yes. Remco's line is open 24/7. If water is coming in, call (772) 314-7244 and we'll get the damaged area covered to stop it spreading, then schedule the permanent repair.

How do you find where a roof leak is coming from?

Water often runs along the deck or underlayment before it shows up on a ceiling, so the stain isn't always under the leak. We inspect the roof above and around the stain — flashing, tiles or shingles, vents and valleys — to find where it's really getting in.

Can you repair a tile roof without replacing it?

Often, yes. Cracked or slipped tiles can be replaced, and a leak under tile is often worn underlayment or flashing in one area. If the underlayment is failing across the whole roof, we'll tell you honestly that a replacement makes more sense.

Should I repair or replace my roof?

If the damage is in one area and the rest of the roof is sound, repair it. If leaks keep returning, damage is widespread or the deck is going soft, replacement is usually the better investment. The inspection is free, so you can decide with real information.

What should I do right after storm damage?

Stay safe and stay off the roof. Take photos of the damage, move belongings away from any leaks and call us to get the roof covered. It's also wise to let your insurance company know about the damage.

How much does roof repair cost?

It depends on the roof type, how much is damaged, how easy the area is to reach and whether the deck needs work. You get a free inspection and a written estimate before any work starts.
